Happy holidays and Merry Christmas from the Ellis family! Glad you were able to hop on the blog today. Cameron and I decided it would be fun to try and attempt yet another gingerbread house. We do this every year and it’s fun to pick out a new house design each time. We snagged this one from our local Target, called the Row House. The box includes, pre-baked gingerbread cookies, pre-made icing, icing tubes and candles for decorating – basically everything you need to build a great house. We had such a fun time working on the house together this afternoon.

As you make your own family memories, I hope you are enjoying the holiday and you also get a chance to slow down and have some quiet time to reflect on the meaning of the season.

Our Family Holiday Traditions

• Christmas cookies, the kind with frosting and sprinkles – Oh yeah….!
• Gingerbread houses
• Sledding
• Drinking hot chocolate by the Christmas tree
• Watching every Home Alone movie
• Bucket list: having our family of three visit New York City (I had the opportunity to go this year solo – but would love to go back!)
• Ice skating
• Playing holiday music on the piano
• Cross country skiing at Elm Creek Park Reserve
• Snow shoeing
