Denim Style For This Season Of Life: Part 2

February 22, 2026

As my personal style has evolved, so has the denim I reach for and these are the pairs I’m wearing on repeat right now. Here are four pairs I’m currently loving that strike the perfect balance between comfort, modern shape and everyday chic.

If you haven’t – I recommend going back to Part 1 of this denim style series. It will provide information you should know about denim before you shop in-store or online.

Everlane – Way-High Jean

Why I’m Loving Them:

  1. Ultra-Flattering High Rise: Sits comfortably at the natural waist, smoothing the midsection and balancing proportions (especially great with cropped sweaters and tees).
  2. Modern Straight Leg: Offers structure without clinging – a sleek look that feels elevated but not restrictive.
  3. Versatile Styling Vibes: Dressed up with a blazer or down with sneakers, these feel intentional no matter the outfit.

Best for: Anyone who wants a timeless jean that feels polished but lived-in.

Good American – Always Fits Good Leg Straight Jean

Why I’m Loving Them:

  1. True Straight Leg: Not too wide, not too narrow – this silhouette flatters all body types and elongates the leg without hugging like a skinny.
  2. Incredible Fit Technology: Good American is all about stretch and recovery, making these super comfortable without getting baggy.
  3. Great with Lots of Shoes: Boots, heels, sneakers – this leg shape plays well with everything.

Best for: Ladies who want a bit of structure with a fit that moves with them.

Quince – Bella Stretch Relaxed Straight Leg Jean

Why I’m Loving Them:

  1. Relaxed, Effortless Look: A looser fit through the leg makes these feel laid-back yet polished -perfect for casual days or travel.
  2. Stretch + Comfort: The right amount of stretch gives mobility without losing shape throughout the day.
  3. Timeless Washes: Classic indigo and lighter washes make them easy to pair with neutrals or bold colors.

Best for: Anyone craving comfort without sacrificing style – like lounge energy that still looks put-together.

KUT From The Kloth – Kelsey Jean

Why I’m Loving Them:

  1. Flattering Mid-Rise: Hits at just the right spot – secure under tees and tucked blouses alike.
  2. Slightly Tapered Finish: A subtle taper keeps these from looking too wide – very chic with ankle boots or flats.
  3. Soft Denim Feel: Comfortable from morning errands to evening plans – no break-in time needed.

Best for: Anyone who loves a polished jean that feels easy and breezy to wear.

Why These Are Better Alternatives to Skinny Jeans

More Versatile Silhouettes: Straight and relaxed legs look great with everything from loafers to clunky boots – no need to fight with fit around the ankle.

Comfort All Day: Less hugging through the sciatic area means easier all-day wear, especially when sitting, driving or traveling.

Modern, Effortless Style: These jeans feel current, not dated – perfect for a wardrobe refresh without sacrificing wardrobe classics.

Ultimately, the best denim style isn’t about chasing trends, it’s about choosing silhouettes that support your lifestyle, your body and how you want to feel day to day. Straight and relaxed styles like these offer the structure of a classic jean with the ease we all crave, making them a smart, modern alternative to skinny denim that still feels timeless.
