4th Of July Style Made Simple

June 29, 2025

The 4th of July calls for easy, breezy style – because let’s be honest, no one wants to fuss with uncomfortable outfits while chasing kids, hosting a BBQ or lounging on a picnic blanket. That’s why I love a good 4th of July style – mixing versatile basics that feel good, move with you and still look totally pulled together.

This year, I’m styling two easy summer outfit staples from Target four different ways and trust me, these pieces feel anything but basic. They’re affordable, soft and shockingly good quality.

Let’s break it down:

The Pieces

All from Target (and worth snagging):

  • Women’s Modern Gauze V-Neck Blouse – A New Day™
  • Women’s High-Rise Modern Gauze Shorts – A New Day™
  • Women’s Leisure Studio French Terry Midi Pencil Skirt – Universal Thread™
  • Women’s Variegated Ribbed Tank Top – Universal Thread™

(Outfit Details: Hat, Tank, Shorts, Sandals)

Mix and match these for four foolproof 4th of July outfit combos – comfy enough for all-day wear and stylish enough for family get-togethers or party outings.

Look 1: The Breezy Set

(Outfit Details: Top, Shorts, Sandals, Clutch)

Gauze Top + Gauze Shorts
This look is summer in a nutshell. Airy, effortless and matchy in the best way. The gauze fabric is breathable (hello, July heat) and the matching set gives you that elevated “put together” vibe without trying. Add woven sandals and gold hoops and you’re ready for a backyard party or parade.

Look 2: Sporty Chic

(Outfit Details: Tank, Skirt, Sneakers)

Ribbed Tank + Midi Pencil Skirt
This combo is perfect if you want something a little more fitted but still casual. The tank is ultra-soft and not too clingy and the pencil skirt has just the right amount of stretch. Throw on sneakers for running errands or swap for platform sandals to head to a fireworks picnic.

Look 3: Effortlessly Elevated

(Outfit Details: Top, Skirt, Sandals)

Gauze Top + Midi Pencil Skirt
This is a great option if you want to dress it up a bit – think BBQ with friends or a sunset dinner. The gauze blouse adds texture and volume, while the skirt keeps things sleek. Finish with statement earrings and a comfy slide sandal.

Look 4: Easy & Cool

(Outfit Details: Hat, Tank, Shorts)

Ribbed Tank + Gauze Shorts
The definition of “grab-and-go” style. Great for a hot day at the lake or hosting at home. It’s casual, it’s cute and you can move freely without overheating. Toss on a baseball cap and a denim jacket for cooler evening temps.

Each of these pieces works beautifully on its own, but they really shine when paired together. You can build so many outfit combos from just four items – proof that you don’t need a huge wardrobe to feel stylish and comfortable. And since they’re all from Target, they’re budget-friendly without compromising on quality.

So whether you’re hosting, traveling, or just hanging out this 4th of July, you’ve got a go-to style lineup that’ll keep you feeling like your best, most relaxed self.
