What a year, 2022! This was a year full of so much. We spent much of the spring and summer prepping our 1910 Victorian Farmhouse to be painted, which meant replacing old rotted siding and scraping off layers of old paint.

We also spent the spring replacing fencing around the farm and planting five massive garden beds, which somehow turned into the most beautiful site, and FULL of produce, it was stunning!

All of the fixing and sprucing led to an amazing late summer and fall. The farm really came to life in 2022.

The Launch

With all of that going on, I also made the decision late in the year (August), to launch my styling business, all around family photo styling. This was unplanned as I didn’t feel 100% ready. This decision came with a lot of uncertainty and fear if I’m being honest.

But you know what, I’m so glad I did it. Of course there were things I felt I missed and weren’t done to make the launch “just right” but then I realized – sometimes imperfect action is better than no action. And, that was my thought process behind pulling the trigger on something I really wanted to do.

There were a few things I had in the works earlier in the year (thank goodness!), like the official launch video with Boo Creative and Olly View Photography. I knew I wanted to capture the beauty of the farm in a way that made you feel like you were right there with us, behind the scenes.

Getting the Benavidez Family style/outfit ready for their very own photo shoot in June 2022 – will probably go down as one of my most personal and favorite memories of all time. It was the start of something new – bringing a dream to life, here at the farm.

Family Photo Season

From the very first photo shoot at the farm in June to many more later that fall, I was blown away looking back at ALL the families and the beauty that was captured in 2022. Thank you Julie – WOW. There were so many great memories and so many great families. It was truly wonderful to meet all of you!

Julie – you took a chance on me and I’m forever grateful for the partnership we created.

Working with other amazing photographers and brands (Sweet Light Studio, Willow & Wren Photography, Boo Creative, Marlena Marika Photography, Punch and Lynch Creek Farm) has brought so much joy – to create with all of you throughout the last half of the year.

I have a real soft spot for moms (and families) – after losing my mom in 2011, I knew I wanted to find purpose doing something I love, something that can help other moms as a way to honor my own.

Launching my styling business towards the end of 2022 was a true undertaking. I was so happy finally getting off the ground and moving.

Looking Forward

Going into 2023, I’m looking forward to honing in on partnership – in all areas of my life.

I think we could all use a little boost from one another. It’s been a challenging few years to say the least.

With that being said, I’m most excited to help you and your family step into 2023 in style. The kind that makes you feel like the best version of you.

I would love nothing more than to partner together in 2023 to create something beautiful.
