Hi friends! I wanted to kick off the holiday season with something unexpected and very special. While I’m ALL about wardrobe styling for you and your family – I wanted to bring you some style for your home – the kind that feels just right going into the holiday season.
I’m SO happy to introduce you to Lynch Creek Farm located in Shelton, Washington! They handcraft traditional and decorated Christmas wreaths, fresh centerpieces, and other beautiful holiday gifts. I discovered them last year when I ordered our real, fresh holiday wreath. It was everything I hoped for and let me tell you something – it’s the only wreath you need this holiday season. When my box arrived, the fresh smell of evergreen and pine was like Christmas morning and I couldn’t get it out of the box quick enough!
For anyone who might be new here – my husband and I purchased our 1910 Victorian Farmhouse just outside the twin cities (Minnesota) last year. Like Lynch Creek Farm, we are enjoying our humble beginnings of our hobby farm. We were busy last season building and putting in big garden beds (amongst other things) and found ourselves with an abundance of fresh veggies. Call it beginners luck, maybe. . . but we are looking forward to next season where we can set up a small produce stand to give Cameron (our 6 year old son) a job – to learn the value of hard work. We also have plans to add chickens and apple orchards in the coming year.
Being on a farm has brought us so much joy, especially being able to share it with others. For me, that’s my favorite part. And with that, I’m thrilled to be partnering with Lynch Creek Farm to bring YOU and your family a little slice of the farm this holiday season.
Lynch Creek Farm is special. Their story and humble beginnings are part of what makes them unique and the “real deal,” so I wanted to share a little bit about them and what they do.
Their Story
They started with an organic vegetable farm and sold their produce at the Shelton Farmers’ Market. In 1984 they started selling their goods at the Olympia Farmers’ Market, the 2nd largest farmers’ market in Washington State, where they continue to sell their products today.
Their youngest son, Andrew Hunter, has stayed with the tradition of the family farmer and loves every minute of it. (Except when the goats get out!) The farm sells dahlia flowers during the summer months and produces the highest quality evergreen Christmas wreaths and centerpieces during the holiday season. They have expanded their dahlia business this last year, opening a stand on the farm with U-Cut dahlias and bouquets. It helps support the local community with a family activity they all enjoy.
They continue their main focus of selling fresh Christmas wreaths and centerpieces online. They have grown and expanded in recent years, and the farm is proud to have many team members who work hard all year to help improve their customer service and product lines. With over 200,000 square feet of warehouse space, their facilities are able to take on any size order. They pride themselves on delivering only the best product every time with no exceptions. They have a reputation for excellence, and their customers have come to expect nothing less.
Their Values
It is their reputation for excellence that left me incredibly impressed. They handcraft their fresh evergreen products onsite which allows for quality inspections every time. Their sustainable practice of trimming branches for their boughs, without cutting down trees, helps protect local forests and their fragile ecosystems.
About Holiday Wreaths
Lynch Creek Farm handcrafts beautiful, highly decorated holiday wreaths. Their holiday wreaths are made with fresh noble fir, juniper berries, incense cedar, variegated holly, salal, and ponderosa pine cones. Other holiday decorations are often added depending on the unique design features of each holiday wreath. They offer many styles with something for everyone!
Wreath Size & Weight
Each decorated holiday wreath is handcrafted to a finished size of 26 inches. Their holiday wreaths weigh approximately seven to eight pounds. Most holiday wreaths on the market of similar size only reach a finished weight of four pounds. The extra greens they add create a beautiful and full three dimensional, long lasting, and very attractive holiday gift. This is undoubtedly my favorite part. I love the weight and fullness – you are getting a high quality product!
Hand-Tied Bows
The bows on their holiday wreaths are all hand-tied, not with a jig but by real people. They have six bow makers who work all year making bows. How cool is that?! Sandy has been with the farm making bows for over 25 years and is truly part of their farm family. The holiday ribbon they use is of exceptional quality and is special-ordered to their specifications. Their bows, without question, are the best in the business. I agree!
Wreath Longevity & Care
In colder climates or northern states, wreaths should last about 6-8 weeks when properly cared for. Wreaths love cold climates and many people keep theirs up until February! In southern dry climates or southern states, wreaths should last about 4-6 weeks. Even in the warmer states, they have lasted through the middle of January.
Always try to place your wreath outside. If you place your wreath or any of their products inside, they will last about 3 weeks when cared for properly. Word of advice, for a long-lasting wreath, spritz the back of the wreath with water every two to three days. Evergreens will drink the water and you will find your wreath to be more fragrant and last longer.
