Simple Table Setting on a Budget

March 30, 2022

Hi friends! Glad you are here today – we made it back from vacation in Florida and we had such a great time with family and visiting Disney World. Now that we are back, I have been thinking about spring, gardens, fresh flowers and entertaining!

With that, I thought it would be fun to share how I make a fast, easy table setting on a budget. We love to entertain at the farm – but sometimes, your best intentions of planning ahead can all of sudden backfire, life happens and you find yourself scrambling at the last second. So, I want to show you how I set the table for a night with family or friends that can save you time – all while looking pulled together in a flash!

Before we dive in, welcome to our bold red dining room! LOL! We have plans to re-do this room along with changing up the furniture in the near future. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see more of the farm house in future posts. It’s like taking a step back in time with a fun vintage inspired aesthetic. Our plan is to keep the history and charm but elevate the style just a bit – it will be a fun project!

Tip 1 – Invest in good napkins

You are probably thinking, you just said this is on a budget and you are right! Hear me out, I believe in good quality napkins because they last, which saves you time and money in the long run. I buy my napkins from Pottery Barn and have not had to replace a single one yet. I love them – I have had mine for years. Timeless colors and patterns that can work with a variety of of table cloths and runners is my go-to.

Tip 2 – Save money on flowers by heading to Trader Joe’s

My next tip is to stop at your local Trader Joe’s and get yourself some great flowers! You will not find a better place to snag your favorites and not break the bank doing it. They have a nice selection of hydrangeas, roses, tulips and filler flowers. My secret – I love building my own bouquets this way if I’m not in a rush. If I’m in a hurry, I will grab the same flower in two bouquets like I did here to make a simple yet stunning pop of color.

Tip 3 – Find a Statement Vase

A beautiful vase adds that extra special touch! The vase pictured above is one I bought from Pottery Barn years ago and I love the glass mixed with the metal creating a fun vintage look. You can find a great selection of vases at your local Target here and here. If you are willing to splurge you can find some great options at Pottery Barn here. I’m loving the ceramic trend that seems to be popping up everywhere.

I hope you find something you love and feel inspired for your next gathering!
